Updates. September 20th

House is very close to be all done with paint.  Dennis sprayed my rocking chairs the same color as the garage.  I love it.   Both umbrellas have fringe now.    Something that was missing on both.

House is coming together.    Finally.

Catching up. September 12th

Has it really been over seven weeks since we lost dad?  I am personally still rattled and  in a disbelief state of mind.  I see my mom and how she is struggling with her own brain disease and both Deb and I agree that her disease has protected her in some way.  I know that dad made it to Heaven and he does not have to deal with his LB anymore.  That is my only saving Grace.  It still feels so new and fresh.  I can talk about it for a bit without getting teary eyed.

I love this one….

We lost our dad July 31, 2022

Way behind on my posts but this one is the most difficult.

Ralph W. Emerson, Jr.
December 27, 1934 – July 31, 2022
Ralph W Emerson, 87, passed away July 31, 2022.

Ralph was born in Lincoln Nebraska to Ralph Emerson, Sr and Mary (Campbell) The family moved to Newport, Oregon and then settled in Bend.
Ralph graduated from Bend Senior High in 1953 where he met his high school sweetheart, Janet (Stacy) They married on November 23, 1955 and moved to Philomath, Oregon where they made their first home and had three children, Tamela, Deborah and Rodney. He went on to become a construction electrician and eventually established his own business, RW Emerson Electric.
He was an active individual. Fishing, hunting; both archery and rifle, snowmobiling, water skiing and horseback riding were his main interests. For numerous years while living in Philomath, he was a member of the Benton County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse in addition to their Search and Rescue Team. He was named Posseman of the Year in 1974. After retiring, he was very involved in The Band of Brothers; Bend Chapter . For over 10 years, he was their Flag Line Leader for a better part of that time. It was his way of giving back and the volunteer that you wanted on your team.
After moving the family back to Bend in 1975, he successfully relocated his electrical business and after some years later, both he and Janet retired.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Janet, their three children, Tammy Wibel (Dennis), Debbie Salladay (John) and Rod Emerson (Debe), six grandchildren, Devin and Meagan Wibel, Brittany Brunke (Will) Mackenzie Wood (Diane), Nicole Stodghill (Dom) and Tyler Emerson. In addition, he leaves six great-grandchildren, Preston and Rylynn, Greyson and Kyah and Daxtyn and Asher.
In addition to his immediate family, he leaves two brothers, Robert and Roger and two sisters, Judy and Joyce. He was preceded in death by both parents and his other brother, Richard earlier this year.
Ralph was a husband, a dad, a papa, uncle and friend to many. He was blessed with the gift of gab and was known by all for just that. He loved to talk and have a conversation with people.
The family would like to thank the staff at Countryside Living in Redmond for the superb care they gave to Dad while he was there.
